Lovely poetry along with your magical photography!
hi
Wonderful photos of these baby Pacific salmon feeding so much of life from birth to when they die! Bravo for the good work being done that you are a part of, Eiko Jones, and may we all stand together against the irresponsible Northwest LNG project that will most certainly contaminate the magnificent Eel-grass beds of the Skeena estuary by siting this monster project on Leulu Island that is part of the estuary and is unceded First Nation’s land as well. If this LNG project goes ahead as intended, the extreme cost of infrastructure, along with monster tankers and more pipelines, will pave the way for expansion of the Tarsands as well—which every sane person knows must not come to pass if this beautiful world is to escape unstoppable Global Warming and endless loss and grief is our inheritance. There is not one single good reason for PNW LNG to exist, nor one voice against it that is wasted.
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!
The perspective of these photo is awesome, you feel as if you are another bullfrog or something, like you’re able to see things just as they live it!
Wow the Salmon carved arch is fantastic! Love the anemone sea gardens. Such a beautiful place!
Love this post!
I really enjoyed looking at all of these, absolutely astonishing images that capture the beauty of the world so perfectly.
Dang I can’t believe you did this. Damn amazing.
My son and I are about to do this class. We have been doing it untrained down to 60-65 feet on our own and have gotten to dive master level in scuba but freediving is our passion and it is awesome that it is yours too. This is truly what getting started in the field is all about and that is sharing! Thank you for sharing this wonderful post with us all!
Incredibly Beautiful! Thank you!!
Very cool!
Appreciate the beautiful pics and info Thx.
Excellent photography! Very well done – thank you for sharing
Thanks for the great photos and commentary! I’ve been one of the boats doing the inshore rockfish survey for the last three years on the north and south coasts so we see and sample a lot of rockfish, but using #14 hooks, no small ones. Have never seen, or heard of a Deacon rockfish, so I’ll be looking that one up. Sure hope that a good cohort comes out of all the juveniles you’ve shown us. Have you ever been able to identify juvenile yelloweye in the shallows?
Nicely done!!
Great photos. Really good stuff!
What glorious abundance. It warms my heart.
GREAT FOOTAGE
Great pictures and fantastic news ❣️👏
Beautiful photography…..love love love rockfish.. Quatsino has always been a big commercial fishing spot for ground fish…
Thank you, in these times of so much bad news with regards to our oceans, this is a very welcomed breath of air!
A wonderful collection.
This is such a beautiful opportunity to see a world so few of us ever witness! I wish I had this when I was teaching my ‘Pond Unit’ to my Kindergarten kids. Thanks for your news letter.
Amazing images once again, Eiko. And your photo of the volcanoes was an interesting point of view. I was on Ometepe in February, and was saddened to hear of the recent unrest in Nicaragua. I heard of it through CNN Español.
Really excellent photographs!
The first divers on this wreck was Robert Briggs of Powell River Divers and Rick MacIntosh

Wow, what an amazing underwater adventure! Seeing those familiar aquarium fish thriving in their natural habitat is incredible. Swimming with a local girl adds a whole other layer of magic. Hope Nicaragua finds peace soon – would love to see more adventures on Ometepe!
