Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, 

Trout are one of the more widely spread fish in North America and exist in lakes, large rivers and small mountain streams. Rainbow Trout sometimes exist as an anadromous form, known as Steelhead. These fish spend a portion of their life at sea and return to the rivers to spawn. Unlike the Pacific Salmon species they can survive to spawn again. A great variation in colours are displayed in trout, depending on the locations and also the different sub-species. Rainbow Trout are a highly sought after by anglers. Rainbow trout have been introduced into many parts of the world over the years.
