Tropical Coral Reef Life.

Equivalent to a lush rainforest onĀ land a coral reef is filled with colour and activity.

Hard corals make up the basic structure of the coral reef, but this is just the foundation. On top of this base thrives soft corals, sponges, gorgonian corals, and much more. Occupying less than one percent of the worlds total ocean surface, coral reefs are one of the richest biomass areas on earth and support and incredible array of species, supporting over 25 percent of all marine organisms. The health of a coral reef is dependent on many factors and they are at risk continously from changing conditions. Healthy reefs support a large biomass of predator species such as sharks, all the way down to the smallestĀ of reef fish.
